Crypto.com Arena Los Angeles, CA, 10:00 PM ET
Tuesday night will feature an exciting matchup in Los Angeles as the Lakers and Clippers meet again, just a month after their first showdown. The Clippers emerged victorious in that game, 103-97, in what was Kawhi Leonard’s return to action after his surgery over the summer.
However, the Lakers have since made strides in improving their play. Despite Anthony Davis’s recent foot injury sidelining him for some time, they have maintained an 8-4 record in their past 10 games.
Anthony Davies returns, but not for this game
Davis is expected to make his return this week, which presents a formidable challenge to the Clippers. LeBron James is likely anxious to see him back on the court as he looks to elevate the Lakers’ play even further. Meanwhile, the Clippers are being cautious with Leonard and his load management, which has kept him out of six games this month due to hamstring issues. Paul George has also missed some time due to a similar issue.
On top of all that, the Clippers are still searching for an effective point guard they can trust for critical moments late in games. Rajon Rondo has been solid overall but it remains unclear if he can provide reliable leadership when it matters most. He’ll need to step up against a hungry Lakers team if Leonard and George don’t suit up on Tuesday night.
Lakers News and Possible Lineups
The Los Angeles Lakers have been much better over the past twelve games, and it’s been largely due to their leader, LeBron James. The former MVP has been playing at an incredible level, averaging 35 points per game and leading the team to an impressive 8-4 record over that span.
On Friday night, the Lakers put a halt to Memphis’ 11-game winning streak by defeating them in Staples Center. Just two nights later, they once again proved their mettle by coming back from a 25-point halftime deficit to get the victory away from home.
The big reason for this surge is undoubtedly James’ spectacular play. He’s making his presence felt on both sides of the court; his ability to take over games offensively has been widely known for years now while he’s also using his immense basketball IQ to become a defensive menace as well. In addition to his scoring prowess – which has seen him average 29.8 points per game this season.
LeBron is averaging 8.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. His leadership and influence have helped keep the team focused and motivated even when things weren’t going their way, evidenced by their incredible comeback against Memphis on Sunday night despite being down at halftime.
Apart from James’ exploits, however, praise must also be given to the rest of the team for their contributions during this winning stretch.
In conclusion, these are exciting times for Lakers fans as they watch their beloved team continue its march towards success with every passing game. With James leading the charge alongside Dennis Schroder and Russel Westbrook providing solid support, it would certainly be no surprise if they kept up their hot streak as we head into what will be a most interesting game of the night!
The Lakers also shook up their roster on Monday, trading for Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura in exchange for guard Kendrick Nunn and multiple draft picks. This bold move further solidified the team’s hopes of a championship this season.
The Lakers are hoping that LeBron’s ankle soreness won’t drag down their momentum and high spirits as they prepare to take the court tonight. Despite being listed as questionable, all signs point towards him playing due his dedication to ensuring he is in peak physical condition – a testament of this team’s perseverance and remarkable talent!

Clippers News and Possible Lineups
The Los Angeles Clippers, who’ve been plagued by injuries to their two star players this season, have recently seen some positive returns. After an inconsistent stretch of games, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been back in the lineup together and have led the Clippers to a pair of wins. This included an impressive 112-98 victory against the Dallas Mavericks.
After experiencing a rough patch of three losses in four games, the Clippers have been able to turn their luck around with an impressive win. With Leonard and George taking turns out of the lineup due to minor injuries, team chemistry was disrupted; however, they are starting to find cohesion now that both stars are back on the court more often.
The Clippers will be facing their upcoming opponents without a few of their biggest stars, as John Wall (abdominal soreness), Luke Kennard (right calf soreness) and Brandon Boston Jr. are all sidelined due to injury or G-League assignment.
Meanwhile Moses Brown is on two-way duty with the G League and Jason Preston works in tandem between both teams.
The Clippers triumphed over the Lakers in both of their first matchups this season, with 103-97 and 114-101 victories.

Clippers vs Lakers Prediction & Betting Tips
The betting line opened with the Lakers at +3.5, but has quickly shifted opinions in favor against them – pushing it to +4.5! Even though the Clippers are typically favored due to Leonard and George’s presence, my NBA model suggests only a small advantage for Los Angeles Clippers if Lebron James plays as expected.
However, his status remains uncertain – putting everything on edge ahead of tip-off!
My NBA betting model lines projected:
- Clippers -0.5
- Lakers +0.5
Recommended bet
Los Angeles Lakers +4.5 (if Lebron James plays)
