Everything You Need to Know About 5Dimes Betting: A Review

There are plenty of sportsbooks out there, but one that you should watch is the 5dimes sportsbook.

But why 5dimes betting when there are plenty of other options out there? What makes it stand apart from the rest?

This is a 5dimes review and why you should consider it as a platform to bet on sports.

Background of 5Dimes Sportsbook

The 5Dimes sportsbook is owned and operated in San Jose, Costa Rica. It was launched in 1998 and has been one of the top offshore betting options for sports bettors for decades now.

This sportsbook accepts wagers from almost every country in the world. The notable exceptions include the United States, England, France, Portugal, Ukraine, and Costa Rica itself, among others. Below is the full list of restricted countries.

The following territories are restricted (updatd 2022):

  • American Samoa
  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • France
  • Guam
  • Hungary
  • Iran
  • Japan
  • North Korea
  • Panamá
  • Portugal
  • Puerto Rico
  • Russia
  • Singapore
  • Slovakia
  • Slovenia
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Ukraine
  • United Kingdom
  • United States Minor Outlying Islands
  • United States of America
  • US Virgin Islands
  • Vietnam

Unlike the United States sportsbooks, however, this one lets you create an account and place bets as long as you are 18 years old. For most American states with sportsbooks, you need to be 21 years old.

Reduced Juice Perk

One thing that a lot of savvy sports bettors look for in a sportsbook is the place where they will have to pay the least amount of juice on their bets.

For those that have that as a big desire, look no further than 5Dimes sportsbook. This has one of the best deals in the industry when it comes to the juice offered on most of their bets.

Most of the sportsbooks in the industry offer -110 odds on their standard bets. However, with 5Dimes, you have the option to place those bets with even lower odds at -105 for a standard bet.

For some, this can be a game-changer because it allows the bettor to save money on their losses. They only have to pay $105 for every $100 they pay, rather than the typical $110 for every $100 they pay.

To the average bettor, that may not sound like a lot of money. But, if you bet tens of thousands of dollars a year on sports and lose about half of the time, that can take 5% off of those losses.

Those that are in this on a regular basis will value the savings from these odds.

Sports and More Offered

Of course, 5Dimes is a place that offers all of the usual suspects when it comes to sports betting. This includes, but is not limited to, the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, soccer, golf, tennis, college sports, and more.

However, the platform also offers a lot of sports, games, and events to bet on that you would not typically see in a sportsbook. Two of the best examples of this are competitive eating and the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

On top of this, one of the more interesting things that you can bet on at 5Dimes is politics. This is not permitted with sportsbooks that are based in the U.S., so offshore sportsbooks like 5Dimes have the leg up here.

One example of something that you can bet on across the political spectrum is the outcome of the 2024 U.S. election. It will have candidates such as Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and more available for you to place your bet on.

Types of Sports Bets

Every sportsbook has its fair share of types of sports bets that are available to the bettor. These are some of the more notable ones that are available on 5Dimes.

Moneyline

One of the most common and easiest sports bets you can make is picking the moneyline. This is relatively simple, as it is just making a bettor choose the outright winner of a sporting event.

Unless the game is considered to be a very even match-up, this type of bet is recommended more for if you believe an underdog will pull off a decent upset.

Why? Because a big favorite is most likely going to cost you a lot of juice to make that bet. A decent underdog will give you the positive odds that you need here to justify that bet.

Spread

If you want something with more standard odds, then a good option for you would be to bet on the spread. Now, in different sports, this can have a couple of different names.

In the NFL and the NBA, this is generally just called a point spread. In the NHL, it is called a puck line, and in the MLB, it is called a runline.

Totals

Rather than betting on the winner of a game or the margin of victory, this type of bet allows you to predict whether a game will go over or under the expected total.

This allows people who are truly undecided about who will win a game to have another legitimate option to bet on in that game. It also gives bettors an opportunity to take advantage of scoring trends that a team in the game may or may not be on.

Parlays

Parlays are one of the most popular and, at times, one of the most frustrating types of bets that you can make on sports. These allow you to combine two or more individual bets into one bet to increase your odds and profit

However, the catch is that every leg of the parlay has to win in order for your overall bet to win. So, if you bet on two teams to get their moneyline, both of them have to do it for your bet to succeed.

Now, most sportsbooks will give a little less profit for every leg of the parlay that you add on. Meaning they will take more juice and be less likely to give you the true value of a parlay.

This really starts to become noticed when the parlay reaches four legs or more. Compared to the link, 5Dimes pays over 12/1 for a standard 4-leg parlay bet, whereas other sportsbooks are likely to only give you 10/1 odds.

Other Parlays

Besides the regular parlays, this sportsbook does offer more specific options for advanced bettors.

One of those options is called an open parlay. This gives you the flexibility of not having to make your entire parlay bet at once because it leaves space open for new legs of a parlay in the future.

Another option that you can use is called a progressive parlay. This is something that more sportsbooks have than an open parlay, but it does allow you to still cash in on a parlay bet even if you lost a leg of it.

Teasers

Unlike parlays, teasers are bets that you can make where you shift the lines in your favor. However, you still must bet multiple legs for teasers to be accepted.

These allow you to do things such as making a football favorite go down from a 7-point favorite to a 3-point favorite. Or even a 3-point favorite to a 1-point underdog

It improves the bettor’s chances of winning each leg of the bet, so some bettors like to use this instead of parlays, despite the fact that the profit from these is not as good.

Like parlays, 5Dimes has other options with teasers as well, such as an open teaser and a progressive teaser.

These work similarly as the parlay options, with open allowing you to book more teaser legs in the future, and progressive allowing you to lose one leg of a teaser and still make your profit.

Pleasers

Pleaser bets work the opposite of teasers on 5Dimes because rather than giving you lines that benefit you, they would give you lines that are even more difficult for you.

So, why would a bettor want to do that? The answer is to make a lot more profit. If bettors are willing to add a few points against them, they could take home a lot more profit than what the normal line would be.

An example would be making a 7-point favorite an 11-point favorite, or even a 1-point underdog into a 3-point favorite. The reward is there for those willing to take the chance on these.

Depositing and Withdrawing Money

The good news for bettors that want more options about how they can deposit money is that 5Dimes betting provides more than the standard credit card options such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

They do accept those too, but another way that you can put money into your account is by using Bitcoin. This option only has a $25 minimum deposit rather than the $50 for the others.

Plus, with Bitcoin on 5Dimes, you can deposit a maximum of $10,000 worth of Bitcoin rather than only $500 on the main credit cards.

Withdrawing money is a simple process, but depending on how and when you want the cash, it may cost you. There is a 24-hour processing period for withdrawals, and you are allowed one free withdrawal per month on the site.

Some options you have to make withdrawals include Bitcoin, cashier’s checks, and bank wires. The latter two can have up to an $80 fee to use those options with 5Dimes sportsbook.

Live Betting

Like most sportsbooks, 5Dimes does have live betting options for its bettors. This allows bettors to place bets on games after the event has already started.

This can be great for momentum sports like basketball, where a team can jump out to a 15-0 lead early, and you have the option of getting a better line.

Some options you have here for making a bet are doing it on commercial breaks, in between quarters or periods, or after halftime. For fights, live betting is usually accepted in between rounds.

On top of this, 5Dimes even gives you the option to place live bets over the phone rather than on their website. Phone services are available 27/7 for bettors here, but there are conditions for them.

For instance, you will need to have a $50 minimum on straight wagers and at least a $25 minimum on parlays.

Customer Support

The sportsbook offers a few ways for customers to get help from 5Dimes if they are having issues. One of the easiest ways is using the live chat function from within the sportsbook.

Then, 5Dimes betting offers several phone numbers on their website that you can call if you are having issues with particular bets. These include sports bets, horse bets, new accounts, and general customer service.

The other way that you can reach out to 5Dimes is through their email address. This is info@5Dimes.eu.

5Dimes Casino

Believe it or not, 5Dimes also has a casino outside of the regular sportsbook. This platform has four separate casinos under one roof. Those are Grand Casino, Jackpot Casino, Bonus Casino, and Matchplay Casino.

In all of these casinos, there will be plenty of slots options for those who like to play that game. Several different types of video poker games are also available for bettors.

So, what else is available? You have table games such as blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette, and much more.

Some bettors at the casino may prefer to have more live interaction than to have everything from a table game be virtual. No worries, 5Dimes has you covered here as well, offering live dealer games.

Some of the live dealer games that are offered include, but are not limited to roulette, blackjack, and baccarat.
